Welcome to Local Japan
Welcome to Local Japan — animated journeys through Japan’s towns, food, and culture.
Follow our illustrated traveler through historic streets, local kitchens, workshops, and everyday neighborhoods. Discover the stories behind regional dishes, meet the ideas and traditions that shape a place, and see how the past lives alongside modern Japan.
Our destinations are real. Our traveler and some everyday scenes are fictional. Historical reconstructions are identified, and research sources are shared in each video description.
Come for the scenery. Stay for the stories. Find a place you would love to visit.
